Company History

Abit has been producing quality automation products for the broadcasting industry since it was formed by experienced pioneers in broadcast automation in1992.
Abit has consistently provided improvements and innovations in automation and media management.
Playout control and media management is a critical part of your broadcast operations. It is vital to choose a supplier that appreciates the very special nature of television while being founded on a solid computing and communications background. That supplier is Abit: Accomplished broadcast and IT professionals working together exclusively in automation since 1992.

What we do.

As broadcasting operations get ever more complicated - multiple channels, secondary events, squeeze-backs, live overlays, parallel channels in conventional, wide screen and high definition, mixed media and metadata resources - tape, file and databases. And whether the system is base on conventional video or servers, LANs and SANs or a hybrid of both, Abit provides the resources and understanding to intelligently manage your playout operation.

Through intelligent use of its database, it ensures that the required material is always available while minimising the number of transfers and avoiding all potential conflicts.
This is doubly cost-effective: the maximum efficiency can be achieved from the minimum hardware, and tape wear and consequent replacement costs are kept low. There is increasing interest in the use of data vaults as archives to large disk-based systems. These are tape-based systems storing raw computer data rather than digital video and audio. Integrating them into the broadcast environment involves special interface techniques.

Abit has the experience and expertise to create a seamless Workflow using video-tapes, files, servers and archives for single and multi-channel operations.
